MINSK, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Belarus registered deflation in July,the National Statistical Committee of Belarus reported onThursday.
The Statistical Committee said prices for goods and services inJuly fell by 0.1 percent compared with June 2017. The deflation wasachieved due to a decrease in the cost of products, an average of0.7 percent.
In July, prices for non-food products and prices for servicesincreased by 0.4 percent and 0.6 percent respectively compared withJune.
In January-July 2017, inflation in Belarus amounted to 3.3percent.
Belarus's last deflation occurred in August 2016, which led to aseasonal decline in the cost of vegetables and fruits.
The government predicts that prices for goods and services willrise by no more than 9 percent this year.
Over the past year, prices for goods and services in Belarusincreased by 10.6 percent. Enditem
