Business authorities from Ningxia Hui autonomous region in Northwest China promoted the region's signature agricultural products during the Beijing International High Quality Agricultural Products Exhibition Fair held from Oct 12 to 14.

The Saturday event mainly focused on specialty wines from Wuzhong city in the middle of Ningxia. Other agricultural products from the area, such as goji berries, also were promoted.

Wuzhong is one of the main wine-producing areas in Ningxia, a place known for geographic and climate conditions highly conducive to wine producing, such as flat terrain, sunshine and a large temperature difference between day and night.

In recent years, a number of wines produced in the area have won awards at international competitions.

More than 50 representatives from Beijing's enterprises participated in the promotional event, where they tasted wines from Wuzhong, and had in-depth exchanges with representatives of Ningxia enterprises.

Organizers said they hope the event and fair will promote exchanges between enterprises in Beijing and Ningxia, to foster stronger cooperation.

A dozen enterprises from Ningxia participated in the fair, demonstrating more than 100 products including wine, goji berries, linseed oil, beef sauce and snacks.
