Shanghai, April 14- The international health and beauty retailer Watsons yesterday announced to have currently owned 3,000 stores and 60 million members in mainland China.
Mainly started with pharmaceutical and personal-care products, the retailer has opened 6,000 stores in European and Asian markets and is expected to complete 14,000 stores worldwide by the fourth quarter of 2017.
Christian Nothhaft, Chief Executive Officer of Watsons, noted that they will, in the coming future, make full use of digital technology and focus on the operation of high-end store brands so as to attract young consumers and keep pace with the fashion trend.
According to Watsons Group Annual Report 2016, its total business turnover during the reporting period reached HKD 151.5 billion, including HKD 20.9 billion in China. The retailer last year opened 446 new stores in China.
