The names of 26 recently confirmed victims of the Nanjing Massacre have been engraved on the 'wailing wall' of the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders.
The wall contains 10,664 engraved names of victims. In 1995, when it was first constructed, 3,000 names of victims were engraved on it to represent the more than 300,000 people killed during the massacre.
For many survivors and their family members who never found the remains of the victims, the 'wailing wall' is the only place for them to remember their loved ones.
