The Changle Princess docks at a cruise terminal in Sanya, Hainan Province, yesterday. The new cruise ship began its maiden voyage to the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea yesterday afternoon, with 308 passengers on board.

The first voyage will last four days and three nights, and tourists can visit the islands of Yinyu, Quanfu and Yagong, said an official of Hainan Strait Shipping Co, which spent 230 million yuan (US$33 million) building the vessel.
