The annual International Antiques Fair will return to Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 27 to 30, presenting both Eastern and Western works of art.

Some 70 dealers from across the world will show classic Chinese paintings, ceramics, European decorative art, thangka and Buddhist figures.

Two special exhibitions will focus on Chinese ink-brush paintings and Japanese lacquer wares. Meanwhile, activities such as lectures on antique appraisal and traditional Japanese tea ceremonies are also being organized.

Ronald Chak, the fair's manager, says they have been committed to bringing together prestigious dealers since launching the fair in 2008.

He says the fair first presented Western antiques last year, and will continue to widen the dialogue between the East and the West.

Founded by Hong Kong antique dealer William Chak and his wife Priscilla Lau, the fair will be an associated project of the annual Le French May art festival's series of cultural programs in Hong Kong and Macao.
