BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Darrell Ang, a Singaporean conductor, will stand on the podium to conduct cadenzas extolling "homeland" at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) Friday.

Featuring the NCPA Orchestra, the concert will include "Ode to the Red Flag," Chinese folk songs like "Flower drum song from Feng Yang" and "Long song from Kang Ding," as well as Western music, such as Jean Sibelius' "Finlandia" and Arturo Marquez's "Danzon No.2."

Born in Singapore, Ang started his musical journey at the age of four. He later became the youngest associate conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the music director of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra.

Tickets for the show are on sale, ranging from 50 yuan (about 7.07 U.S. dollars) to 480 yuan.
