BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- "The Farewell," a comedy-drama film, is set to hit big screens in China on Friday, Nov. 22, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.
The storyline revolves around a Chinese family who, upon learning that their grandmother has terminal lung cancer, decide not to tell her about the diagnosis, instead scheduling an impromptu wedding-reunion before she dies.
Directed and written by Lulu Wang, the film is based on a real-life story.
"The Farewell" won the audience favorite award at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival London.
