In memory of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s Death, the Hallé Orchestra will give performance on July 14 and 15 at Shanghai Grand Theatre, which is part of “Shakespeare For Ever” global project by SI-UK Education Council.
为纪念莎士比亚逝世400周年，英国文化教育协会“永恒的莎士比亚”全球项目将给中国观众带来哈雷管弦乐团演奏莎士比亚作品的相关音乐， 14、15日在上海大剧院演出。
British actor Malcolm Sinclair and Tom McKay, as well as a Chinese native chorus will also join in the Hallé Orchestra’s performance. The performance will be conducted by Sir Mark Elder, musical director of the Hallé Orchestra and famous Chinese cellist Wang Jian will also take part in some performances.
英国演员马尔科姆•辛克莱和汤姆•麦凯以及中国本土的合唱团也将加盟哈雷管弦乐团的演出。演出将由哈雷音乐总监马克•埃尔德爵士指挥，享有盛誉的中国大提琴家王健也将参与其中的几场演出。

Works of Shakespeare have great influence on many composers in the world, including Berlioz, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, etc. Conductor Elder will lead the Hallé Orchestra to perform Shakespeare music for Chinese audience including British composer Walton’s “Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario”, Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream (excerpts) – Overture, Scherzo, Wedding March”, Otto Nicolai’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, Dvorak’s “Othello”,etc.
莎士比亚的戏剧作品对世界上许多最伟大的作曲家都产生了巨大而深远的影响，柏辽兹、德沃夏克、门德尔松、尼克莱的多个代表作品的灵感均源于这个英国最伟大的戏剧家。指挥埃尔德将带领哈雷给中国听众呈现的莎士比亚音乐将包含沃尔顿的《亨利五世：莎士比亚的剧本》、门德尔松的《仲夏夜之梦》部分选曲、奥托•尼克莱的《温莎的风流娘们儿》、德沃夏克的《奥赛罗》序曲等。

The Hallé Orchestra is a top orchestra from Manchester which has already held 158 performance seasons. The Hallé Orchestra is famous for their excellence in art, besides around 70 concerts at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and over 40 concerts in Britain, they will also tour around world and give radio and TV performance.
