From dinosaur to bird to fossil
From:Xinhua  |  2017-08-16 09:53

Visitors study animal fossils donated by a museum in northeast China’s Liaoning Province at Shanghai Natural History Museum yesterday.

The museum received 11 precious animal fossils from the Jizangtang Fossil Museum in Chaoyang City, including two top-level protected animal fossils — a birdlike dinosaur (inset) and a Sanyan toad.

The dinosaur fossil still retains the feathers on its legs and tail. It is the earliest known feathered dinosaur and marks a key evolution process from dinosaur to bird, according to the museum.
