As a highlight of this year’s China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF), a Nobel laureate’s picture book will be celebrated.

Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk is the winner of this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature. The Chinese edition of her only picture book "The Lost Soul", published by the Shanghai Pictorial Publishing House, will be released at the CCBF.

CCBF is the only fair fully dedicated to books with specific contents for children aged from 0 to 16 in Asia Pacific. Over 100 new exhibitors will take part in the event between Nov 15 and 17.

The exhibition area will cover 25,000 square meters, 25% larger than last year, said a news briefing held this week. More than 400 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions will show their best products covering the entire industrial chain in children’s book publishing. The number of new exhibitors accounts for over 30% of the total, and it will be the first time for the UAE to attend the event.

Another important activity of the annual CCBF is the Authors Festival, which will gather around 20 writers and illustrators from all over the world in Shanghai. They will communicate with the Chinese audiences through seminars, book launches, and signing sessions in schools and residential communities.
