The 2019 Changxing Island Country Park Tourism Festival and the Shanghai Citrus Festival, also called the “Two Festivals”, are in full swing.

Shanghai Changxing Island Country Park, known as Shanghai’s Citrus Island due to the large area of citrus cultivation, is the city’s first country park certified as a National 4A Tourism Attraction. It is also the only country park among all the seven country parks of the city that has an “island-type outer suburb ecological conservation” ecosystem.

Tasting fresh citrus, Bed and Breakfast accommodation and appreciating the autumn scenery have long become popular reasons for tourists to come here from the Yangtze River Delta Region.

The “Two Festivals” held each fall is especially lively. This year, 10 outdoor concerts will be organized with popular Chinese singers including Valen Hsu and Mo Meng on stage.

On the five consecutive weekends from October 19th, visitors can also join in six citrus-themed carnival activities including a music festival, citrus picking festival, citrus tasting festival and sports festival. In addition, events to be held for the first time like a fishing competition, a carriage parade and a 50 company White Collars riding challenge will also be available for people to have fun.
