The ground and flight testing of Honeywell’s JetWave connectivity system was completed in China on the company’s Boeing 757 testbed aircraft. The system, which debuted in the Chinese market during the 2019 CIIE (China International Import Expo), will greatly increase the company’s support for China’s in-flight, high-speed satellite communication.

Based on proven performance and recognition in the market, the JetWave system has been designed to provide reliable and high-speed cabin connectivity across China’s Ka-band satellite network, with speeds of up to 180Mbps. Passengers can expect the same high-speed Wi-Fi experience at 40,000 feet as they do on the ground, fully meeting business and entertainment connection demands.

“JetWave attracted much attention when it was displayed at the CIIE at the end of 2019. Now it has completed its testing program on the Boeing 757. We hope to speed up the application of this technology in the Chinese market, so as to provide high-speed satellite communications for in-flight connectivity in the Chinese market,” said Jia Zhijun, senior director for Asia Pacific, Honeywell Connected Aircraft.
