An exhibition themed around the development process of Shanghai’s shipping industry is under way in Shanghai, which has been making efforts to build itself into an international shipping center. The exhibition focuses on shipping-connected stamps, with 320 pages of philatelic works in five sections vividly presenting the city’s 100-year shipping history.
Since the 16th China Maritime Day falls on July 11, the 615th anniversary of Chinese navigator Zheng He’s first voyage to the West, the exhibition has two special subject areas to demonstrate Shanghai’s connection to China Maritime Day and Zheng He’s seven voyages to the West.
Via multimedia presentations, visitors can learn the story behind the stamps. At the end of the visit, people can also post a card to themselves or their loved ones with their best wishes.
The exhibition is to last until August 31.
