During the summer vacation, a junior one student in Hangzhou city drew a picture to show how the four protagonists of the classic book “Journey to the West”-Xuangzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing - journeyed to the West to collect their scriptures. The student mentioned that the picture was in fact a task assigned by her Chinese teacher. Students have to read the book “Journey to the West” and draw a route map to show how the main characters went to the West.

It’s reported that the school’s arrangement of summer Chinese exercises mainly focuses on five areas including reading, writing, movie watching, calligraphy and accumulation of knowledge. Students are free to choose one task to accomplish. Drawing a map for the book “Journey to the West” and writing notes on Lu Xun’s book Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk are highly encouraged.
