Women score higher in financial health

As more females utilize finance to enhance their wealth and create a better life, in-depth research on women's financial health has become a hot topic.

Chinese women's financial health is overall better than men's, especially in terms of balance of payments and reasonable debt, according to a new report entitled “Rationality and Sensibility: Chinese Women's Accelerating Financial Health”.

Jointly issued by the online wealth management learning platform iChangtou and the Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI), the report measures financial health by four major indicators: daily income and expenditure management, financial resilience, investment in the future, and financial capability.

The report shows that Chinese women’s financial health is better than men’s overall, but females have shortcomings, such as a lack of attention to insurance, and more limited financial knowledge.

As more and more females have independent sources of income, they have stronger spending power. According to the report, 94% of women bought fund products, and 57% bought stock products, which was not a significant difference from men.

However, women's financial health is still a relatively unfamiliar topic. Though a large number of females are purchasing financial products like stocks and funds, the vast majority are not satisfied with their own financial knowledge. 83% of women regret not having learned about finance or financial management earlier, most of whom have a high demand for knowledge on stocks and funds. 85% of the respondents want to get relevant training.
