Special buses for Hongqiao line
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2017-06-15 04:29

SHANGHAI will open a new bus line to connect Hongqiao airport with the terminal station of the 17.5-kilometer-long No. 71 bus route that runs along Yan’an Elevated Road.

The new line, set to open around October, will stretch about 8.5 kilometers from the T2 building of Hongqiao International Airport to the terminal station of the No. 71 bus on Shenkun Road. Shanghai Railway Station will be one of the stops on the line.

The bus line was announced by Shanghai Ba-Shi Public Transportation Group, which added that a new type of bus, with doors opening on both sides, will run along the new line to improve efficiency — the first time such buses will operate in the city.

Sixteen of these buses have been ordered for the line, said Zhou Jianping, an official with the group.
