Rules that online food delivery firms must follow
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2017-06-15 04:29

ONLINE food delivery platforms must establish a food safety credit appraisal system of meal suppliers, the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration said.

Furthermore the FDA added the assessment must be made public under the city’s regulations on online meal delivery service management.

The assessment system, for which public opinion is being solicited, should include diners’ comments along with complaints about suppliers, food sample test results, punishments and suppliers’ management of food safety.

Platforms are also encouraged to set up a compensation system concerning food safety disputes, and they should conduct food safety training for staff, according to the regulations.

Meal suppliers of online food should be properly established licensed stores, and online platforms should make public their business licenses, food operation permit and health certificates of their staff.

Meal suppliers should also disinfect bags used to carry delivered meals regularly and make sure food is not tainted during the delivery process. Temperatures of food should be controlled.

Food delivery platforms should verify the information provided by suppliers, and register at local food authorities.

Platforms should remove suppliers guilty of criminal offenses, or have had their licenses revoked, or have had food safety incidents. The public consultation will last till July 13.
