THE city is considering connecting two major reservoirs — Qingcaosha on Changxing Island and Chenhang Reservoir in Baoshan District — to make the city’s water supply safer.

Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute of China Three Gorges Corporation, which designed the reservoirs, said yesterday it is looking at a plan to build a tunnel to connect the reservoirs to help to deal with potential water contamination.
