From:Shanghai Daily  |  2017-06-26 02:29

A burglary suspect used rental bikes to take him to places to rob.

Shanghai police said he had stolen over 40,000 yuan (US$5,860) worth of cash and objects.

The suspect, surnamed Huang, committed burglaries after taking ofo bikes that were not properly locked by previous users, police in Yangpu District said.

Huang appeared on street surveillance cameras and police managed to spot the numbers on his bike plates, but since he had not used his own identification to take the bikes, police were frustrated in their search.

The first thefts took place in a residential complex on Hejian Road on June 2.

Another took place on Jiangpu Road four days later, police said.
