From:Shine  |  2018-03-12 15:29

Workers are engaged in animation creation at Shanghai Hippo Culture and Technology Corp in Zhangjiang.

The culture and creative industry of Zhangjiang yielded fruitful results last year since a total of 643 local culture enterprises generated nearly 50 billion yuan (US$7.9 billion) of business revenue.

Forty enterprises in the Zhangjiang Culture and Creative Industrial Park reported more than 100 million yuan of output respectively last year and the park has developed from a test field into a demonstration zone well-known in China. It was ranked first of its kind in China last year.

Zhangjiang has formed four cultural and creative industrial clusters: digital publishing, cultural equipment, animation, games and television, and digital creative technology.

A number of industry leaders, such as China Literature, Bilibili, Shanda Games, LinkSure Network (the developer of WiFi Master Key), China’s largest audio platform Ximalaya FM and e-learning platform Hujiang.com are based in Zhangjiang.

Technologies such as the Internet of vehicles, virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence help promote the development of Zhangjiang’s culture and creative industry.

At the same time, artists in Zhangjiang are widely engaged in various art forms, where some of them even paint on the walls of buildings. Zhangjiang is never lack of animators, BG artists, graphic designers and directors as the city’s first Animation Valley was established here to provide a creative hub for animation and comic artists and investors to tap the vast potential of the Chinese domestic market.

Each link in the animation production process can be completed in Zhangjiang, including graphic design, storyboard, layout, coloration, compositing, visual effects and post-production.

The Zhangjiang Culture and Creative Industrial Park has forged a complete chain including creation, planning, brokerage, post-production, marketing, communication, extensive development and tourism. By virtue of the aggregation of the leading companies and the notable scale effects, it has advantages in the combination of culture, science and technology, innovation, finance and trade.

Zhangjiang was named as the cultural industry base of Shanghai in August 2004. After that, the Zhangjiang Culture and Creative Industrial Park was on its way to create a culture brand.

The park also honors the first national digital publishing base, Zhangjiang Digital Publishing Base, and was officially included in the third batch of National Cultural Industry Demonstration Parks by China’s Ministry of Culture in February 2011.
