Qualified professionals lacking for senior roles
From:Shine  |  2018-03-26 14:29

There are a large number of job vacancies for senior positions, but qualified applicants are lacking, it was revealed at a job fair held over the weekend.

The job fair was especially designed for job seekers who are around 35 years old and have accumulated rich experience in the workplace.

Some of the renowned recruitment consultancy firms, like UK-based Michael Page and China-based CGL, attended the fair seeking qualified professionals for their clients.

Positions with promising annual salaries of 250,000 yuan (US$39,613) to 6 million yuan were on offer, ranging from accounting managers to legal counsel.

“There are a lot of opportunities, but we didn't find many qualified people,” said Xue Liang, senior manager with CGL. “For example, many of our clients want skilled digital marketing practitioners, which is a position that requires people with years of experience and a good grasp on new things — it’s kind of a crossover position.”

Figures from online recruitment platform Liepin.com, who held the fair, showed 80 percent of applicants were senior executives.
