Street surveillance cameras on Akesu Road, Jiading District, caught Zhang illegally changing lanes to cut in before another car.

Zhang was summoned to the police on Wednesday.

“I was in a bad mood and felt that I lost control of myself when that driver cut in before me,” he said. “I regret what I have done.”

Zhang was fined 600 yuan (US$95) with six points deducted from his driving license for illegal lane changing.

For his dangerous behavior, he could also face the criminal charge of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” and up to five years in prison, police said.
