Runners will receive Disney-themed T-shirts and medals.

The 2018 Disney Inspiration Run will be held at Shanghai Disney Resort on September 15 and 16, with registration open to 10,000 runners in 3.5K, 5K and 10K events, the resort announced yesterday.

Disney has long organized running events at its theme parks around the world, but this will be its first in Shanghai.

The 3.5K run will include 3,000 participants aged between 5 and 16. The 5K run will have 2,000 participants over the age of 16. Both runs will be held on the morning of September 15.

The 10K run, which allows 5,000 participants, will be held the next morning. The resort will be closed to the public during the runs.

Online registration (https://run.shanghaidisneyresort.com) starts at 10am, July 2, and ends at 5pm, August 3. Registration is first come, first served, and will close when quotas are filled.

The fee for the 3.5K run is 279 yuan (US$42.6) per person. 5K and 10K runners will be charged 349 yuan each. Runners can also purchase Disney Resort tickets at a discounted price.

The first 50 men and women participants to finish the 10K race event will be granted automatic entry into the 10K race at the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon, while the first 50 men and women to finish the 5K will be granted automatic entry to the Mini Marathon.
