JINSHAN firefighters ran through heavy traffic to save a bus driver whose leg was trapped after an accident yesterday.
The bus had rear-ended a truck at 7:50am on expressway G1501.
Firefighters responded but as it was morning rush hour and part of the expressway was under repair, their rescue vehicle became stuck.
Seven firefighters, each carrying rescue tools weighing more than 10 kilograms, ran the 2 kilometers to the bus.
“We found the driver’s leg was stuck between the steering wheel and the seat,” a firefighter said.
The firefighters used the jaws of life cutting equipment to free him. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
