From:Shine  |  2019-01-19 17:29

The series of four books developed by Shanghai Children's Medical Center and professionals to help children get familiar with medical process in the hospital.

The nation’s first interactive drama showcasing treatment process at a hospital and help children ease their anxiety and pressure had its debut at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center on Friday.

The drama, titled “I Am Not Afraid of Being Hospitalized,” was developed on a series of picture books created by the hospital and professionals. The four books in the series tell children about visiting the hospital, injections, hospitalization and lumbar puncture. The books use stories to help children get familiar with the medical process and calm them down.

“Children’s anxiety comes from fear of the unknown," said Li Qingying, an official at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center. “This drama is another new trial. It shows a girl being hospitalized after breaking her arm."

A total of four dramas based on the four books will be developed.
