Metro Line 3 was briefly disrupted around noon on Saturday by a dangling iron sheet, but the danger was soon removed by a team of firefighters.

The firefighters serving the area of Shanghai South Railway Station in Xuhui District received a report at 11:52am that a piece of iron sheet seemed to be dangling from the elevated rail near the Longcao Road Station on Metro Line 3.

At the scene, the firefighters assessed that the iron sheet about 1.5 meters long and 50 centimeters wide had to be removed immediately.

To access it, they had to enter via the station, causing the delay. Trains resumed by1:05pm.
