Guyi Garden is now open at night. Nearly 9,000 outdoor lights are making the park more beautiful than ever when darkness falls.

LED lights have been installed across the park to illuminate major scenic spots. Through the use of light, every building in Guyi Garden seems more elegantly tranquil at night than in the daylight hours.

The park management has launched a night tour program from 6:30pm to 8pm on weekends and national holidays. Ticket sales for the night tours begin at 6pm at 12 yuan (US$1.69) per person.

The night tour is expected to make Guyi Garden a pearl of Shanghai’s nighttime economy, according to the park management.

During the recent Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, people wearing traditional Han clothes entered free at night while the park held a celebration featuring a number of cultural activities, including guqin (a plucked seven-string Chinese instrument) performances and fan dances.
