From:Shanghai Daily  |  2019-10-08 08:29

A DRIZZLY start is expected after the National Day holiday with the highest temperature falling to 23 degrees Celsius.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau predicts some brief drizzle, which may affect local traffic conditions.

After dusk, skies will turn cloudy to overcast with winds bringing some coolness.

From tomorrow, skies will mainly be cloudy and dry and cloudy conditions will last into the weekend. Temperaturestomorrow will range from 19 to 24 degrees.

From Thursday, weak high pressure will cause a rise in mercury, likely delaying the official arrival of autumn.

The high will be lifted to 27 degrees on Thursday, dropping to 25 and 26 degrees on Friday and Saturday and then slipping down again to 22.

Lows will mainly be between 19 and 21 degrees.

Today marks the beginning ofhanlu, or cold dews, the 17th solar term in traditional Chinese calendar. This indicates that the temperature drop will cool the dew on the ground to almost freezing.

Shanghai often enters the meteorological autumn during this solar term.
