Famous catering and milk tea brands Thai Princess, Happy Lemon and Little Sheep have been fined for a range of violations, according to the latest list of administrative penalties announced on the website of Shanghai's food and market watchdog.

The Thai Princess restaurant inside CapitaLand Hongkou Plaza, in Hongkou District, was fined 50,000 yuan (US$7,100) by market regulators in the district.

Two milk teas made by the restaurant failed tests in August for excessive bacterial colonies, according to the administration.

At the Happy Lemon outlet inside the same shopping mall, two bubble milk teas were tested in August and found to contain excessive bacterial colonies as well, the administration said. It was fined 10,000 yuan.

The Lujiabang Road outlet of hotpot chain Little Sheep was fined 50,000 yuan, and had 8,435 yuan in illegal profits confiscated.

It was found providing fake information on restaurant review website dianping.com, according to the administration.

The restaurant also made and sold fresh beverages such as milk tea and lemon juice without administrative approval, the administration said.
