A 42-year-old woman who went into cardiac arrest outside the outpatient clinic of Shanghai Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital was rescued by medical staff on Monday afternoon.
The woman went to the hospital with her family at 3pm. After she suddenly fell to the ground, medical staff who were doing temperature screenings rushed over to provide immediate CPR.
With first aid, she regained a heart beat and started breathing again.
The woman was later transferred to a comprehensive hospital by ambulance and preliminary checks found that she suffered a stroke.
The hospital said it regularly offers first aid training to all medical staff.
