An outlet of bakery chain Paris Baguette inPutuoDistrict has been investigated by the district's market watchdog after a baker did not wear mask properly and chatted while cutting bread, thePutuoDistrict Administration for Market Regulation said on Monday.
The bakery was ordered to rectify and impose strict management and operation procedures, officials said.
The baker's mask was on his chin, exposing his nose and mouth, and he wasn't wearing gloves, a photo posted online by a woman surnamed Xushows.
Xusaid she took the picture when she visited the bakery onZhongshanRd N. on Sunday afternoon.
The man was also chatting with a colleague while cutting the bread,Xusaid.
Xusaid that when she complained, the baker pulled his mask up.
He didn’t wash his hands after touching his mask and continued cutting bread, Xu said.
The bakery has apologized and said the baker would be fired.
Food operators are required to wear masks at work and use disposable gloves when in contact with food that will be eaten directly, according to a guideline issued by the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation earlier this month.
