While cherry trees are in blossom throughout thecity,botanical gardens and parks remain closed due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak. But they are offering online tours to enable people to appreciate the flowering of springat home.

Some kawazu-zakura cherry blossom, one of the earliest to boom and the major varietyin Shanghai, is in full flower atChenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District.

The warm winter has brought forward the flowering of cherry blossom in the city, the garden said on Tuesday.

Early flowering varieties of usually bloom in Shanghai in late February.

The Kawazu-zakurablossom features large petals and is bright pink. The garden has about 6,000 square meters of trees and an 800-meter boulevard of flowers creating a dream-like pink tunnel.

Unlike other cherry blossom with short flower times, the Kawazu-zakurablossom can last about a month.

At Shanghai Botanical Garden and Gucun Park, cherry blossom will flower soon.

Chenshan Botanical Garden, Shanghai Botanical Garden and Guyi Garden are offering online broadcast and photo sharing to people can enjoy the beauty of the spring flowers with simple clicks.

The Chenshan Botanical Garden hosts a flower live broadcast at 11am daily on Douyin, the Chinese version of Tik Tok, and its account is 706174709. Details can be followed on the WeChat account of Shanghai Botanical Garden.

Guyi will announce its broadcasting schedule later.
