Spring warmth forecast to start the week
From:Shine  |  2020-02-19 19:29

Spring warmth will bring us a mild start to next week with the temperatures rising to 21 degrees Celsius, forecasters said.

But the warm weather will last for just two days before next Wednesday sees them drop to 13 degrees, along with some drizzle.

On Thursday and Friday of next week temperatures will range between 9 and 14 degrees.

This Wednesday was yushui, the second solar term of a lunar year also known as rain water. During this period, cold and snowy weather has left most of the country with temperatures beginning to rise.

Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said most suburban areas witnessed temperatures below freezing point this Wednesday morning. However, from Thursday, they will rise to 15 to 17 degrees for the rest of the week.

Skies will be sunny and cloudy, with a drizzly afternoon on Friday.

More rain will be seen as warm moisture from the ocean flows onshore and collides with cold air from northern China, helping the growth of plants and crops.

The average temperature in Shanghai during yushuiis 7.2 degrees with average precipitation of 43.8 millimeters. There are six rainy days on average during this solar term.
