Workers deliverdaily essentials and sanitationproducts to crew quarantined on the ferry.
The first quarantined ferry in the city was back in action on Wednesday after a 14-day observation with no coronavirus infection cases reported, the maritine authority said on Thursday.
Carrying 11 crew members from Chongqing, the ferry approached its anchorage in Baoshan about two weeks ago after a crew member suspected of beinginfected was transferred to a hospital in Taicang, Jiangsu Province.
Baoshan Maritime Commission put emergency plans in place to guide the ferry into a safe water area with distance monitoring.
Apart from daily necessities delivered by local authorities, psychological counseling and disease prevention guidance were also provided through online live chats to relief anxiety among the crew.
“We are not afraid of being quarantined. Contrarily, we feel safe and secure after knowing that someone is taking care of us through this harsh time,” the ferry captain said.
