New guidelines for city tourist attractions
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2020-02-22 08:29

TOURIST attractions in Shanghai should impose reservation systems to limit visitors to 50 percent of maximum daily capacity when they reopen to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus pneumonia, a notice issued by the city’s tourism authorities yesterday states.

The schedule for reopening will be based on the city’s coronavirus prevention and control situation, says the Shanghai Culture and Tourism Administration’s notice for the city’s grade-A tourist attractions.

Tourist attraction operators should make public their maximum capacity and impose real-name ticket purchases and tours, the notice says.

Materials on the prevention of the epidemic in both Chinese and English should be distributed to tourists.

Visitors are required to have their body temperatures measured at the entrances of tourist attractions and those with a temperature higher than 37.3 degrees Celsius will be refused entry, according to the notice.

Tourists from key infection areas will have their basic information and health status registered.

The opening of indoor venues at scenic areas should be strictly controlled with disinfection and ventilation measures imposed, and indoor venues without good ventilation or good air quality are not allowed to open, the guideline states.

Festival activities and events with the potential for gathering are banned at tourist attractions, and wild animals raised at tourist attractions should be quarantined.

Staff at scenic spots must have their body temperatures measured before entry, with a daily registration system imposed, and they must wear masks and guide tourists to keep a distance of more than 1 meter during tours and prevent gathering.

Guides inside tourist attractions should keep a distance of over 1 meter from tourists and use wireless electronics for communication, according to the notice.

Wheelchairs, umbrellas, crutches and audio guides for tourist rent must be disinfected upon each use, and disinfectants should be prepared at tourist centers for free use.

Public facilities and electronic screens inside tourist attractions should be sanitized twice daily.

A total of 113 grade-A tourist attractions, Shanghai Disneyland and Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park as well as other scenic spots have put up the shutters in an effort to curb the spread of the epidemic since late January.
