Region's urban management, police authorities to deepen cooperation

Officials in the Yangtze River Delta region sign a cooperation mechanism for integrated urban management and law enforcement in the region on Friday.

Urban management and law enforcement authorities in the Yangtze River Delta region will establish new cooperation mechanisms and enhance information sharing, authorities announced on Friday.

A mechanism for integrated urban management and law enforcement in the region was signed in Qingpu District by authorities from Shanghai andJiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces on Friday.

Under the mechanism, urban management and law enforcement authorities in the region will cooperate in 10 areas, such as cross-regional joint law enforcement, research on intelligent urban management, and a joint credit penalty system.

They will enhance cross-regional crackdowns on violations against the environment and order, transfer evidence, and establish an alert mechanism on law enforcement affairs under the mechanism.

Urban management and law enforcement authorities in the region will also conduct regular exchanges and establish an information supervision and management platform relying on Internet plus, cloud computing and 5G technologies.

They will also enhance cooperation during major events such as the China International Import Expo, the China Flower Expo and the World Internet Conference.

"The mechanism is of great significance in promoting the higher-quality integrated development of the region," said Huang Rong, deputy secretary general of Shanghai government.

Shanghai district urban management and law enforcement authorities have also signed cooperation agreements with their counterparts in 43 cities and development zones in the region, and a three-year action plan of integrated urban management and law enforcement in the region between 2021 and 2023 was released on Friday.
