The Longhua Martyr Memorial in Xuhui District released an augmented-reality video game on Friday aimed at young people, just ahead of China's Army Day on August 1.

The game is the first of its kind released by a memorial site in China. It turns the site into a three-dimensional "sand box," and features revolutionary pioneers and historical events as part of game-play.

Players experience secret struggles happening at the prison of the Songhu Garrison Command by accomplishing different tasks.

The Longhua Martyrs' Memorial is located in theLonghua Martyrs' Cemetery. More than 1,700 martyrs, including revolutionary martyrs as well as firefighters and police officers who sacrificed their lives while on duty, rest in peace here.

The game can be downloaded at https://www.slmmm.com/wap/game.html, on the official website of the Longhua Martyrs' Cemetery.

By telling the stories of the city's heroes, the game enables the younger generations to experience Shanghai's revolutionary past and raises patriotic awareness, the memorial operator said.
