10 imported COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

The city reported 10 new imported coronavirus cases on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The first patient is a Chinese working in Niger who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 25.

The second patient is a Jordanianworking in Turkey who arrived at the Shanghai airport on September 25.

The third to the eighth cases are Chinese working or living in the Philippines who arrived at the Shanghai airport on the same flight via South Korea on September 25.

The ninth and tenth cases are Chinese working or living in the Philippines who arrived at the Shanghai airport on the same flight via Japan on September 25.

All the patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 157 close contacts with them on the same planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, two patients were discharged upon recovery, the commission said. So far, of all the 650 imported cases, 601 have been discharged upon recovery and 49 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported during the last 24 hours, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
