Public health guidance for upcoming holidays
From:Shine  |  2020-09-28 12:29

Local health authorities have issued public guidance on disease prevention, food safety and injury avoidance for the upcoming National Day holiday and Mid-Autumn Festival, which kick off on Thursday.

Residents are required to avoid unnecessary overseas trips. They should also follow government measures on coronavirus prevention and control while visiting other parts of China, even as the epidemic is waning in the nation.

Mask wearing, distance keeping and hand washing are still deemed important. Officials require travelers to do self assessment for two weeks after returning to Shanghai, and to visit the hospital immediately after experiencing symptoms like coughing and fever.

In addition to the coronavirus, authorities are warning the public about the risks of dengue fever. October is traditionally a peak season for dengue fever, especially as people visit Southeast Asia and subtropical regions.
