The city reported one new imported coronavirus case on Thursday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.

The patient is an American working in the United States who departed from the country on September 28 and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 30.

The patient has been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 11 close contacts with them on the same plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, three patients were discharged upon recovery, the commission said. So far, of all the 665 imported cases, 615 have been discharged upon recovery and 50 are still hospitalized.

Three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported during the last 24 hours, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
