Imported cases receive targeted care in Shanghai
From:Shine  |  2020-10-09 17:29

Another five imported coronavirus patients, including a pregnant woman, were discharged with recovery on Friday. So far, 641 imported cases have been treated and discharged for the disease in the city, said the Shanghai Health Commission.

To provide better, more targeted treatment to pregnant patients, Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, a designated hospital for coronavirus patients, dispatched medical professionals in obstetrics and gynecology to participate in treatment. It also invited leading experts to conduct daily remote consultation to give clinical direction. In addition to routine health care and treatment, medical staff also provided prenatal care, psychological support, nutrition direction and follow-up guidance after discharge.

As of Thursday, the city has received seven pregnant women with infection of coronavirus and all have been discharged with recovery.

Considering that current patients in Shanghai are all imported cases, the city’s health authority offers multidisciplinary service and individualized care as well as language support to further improve treatment, reduce mortality and speed up recovery, the commission said.

Since receiving the first imported coronavirus case on March 5, Shanghai has received 694 imported patients from some 60 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. There are seven patients in serious condition and two in critical condition. The two critical cases and five of the seven serious cases have been discharged with recovery. The remaining two serious cases are recovering well.
