City to screen people from risk areas
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2020-10-13 08:29

ALL people coming or returning to Shanghai from China’s medium-risk regions for the coronavirus will be subject to 14-day community health management measures like home quarantine from today, Shanghai’s epidemic prevention and control office announced late last night.

Qingdao in east China’s Shandong Province has listed its Loushanhou community, where the Qingdao Chest Hospital is, as a medium-risk region — the only one in China now — after new cases linked to the hospital were found.

Shanghai will launch a screening drive of people from the region who arrived in the city within 14 days. They must undergo two weeks of strict community measures. People arriving in Shanghai from the region between September 30 and October 6 will receive a free COVID-19 nucleic acid test, while those arriving between October 7-12 will take the tests twice.

Starting today, all those coming from the medium-risk region must report to neighborhood (village) committees or hotels within 12 hours and undergo home quarantine and receive tests.

Local schools have been told to enhance the checks on the health code. Students and faculty members coming from the medium-risk region must take the two-week community monitoring along with two tests. All levels of local medical institutes will conduct epidemiological investigations on all patients.

Citizens and travelers coming from the risky region in the last 14 days are reminded to ensure self-health monitoring. Those with COVID-19 symptoms such as fever and dry cough must go to nearby fever clinics with facial masks.
