上海国际电影节：18部加拿大影片集中亮相，助力“中加文化交流年”

本届上海国际电影节评委之一、加拿大导演Atom Egoyan在加拿大电影周开幕式上致辞。

Shanghai, June 15 - A total of 18 Canadian films will show up at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) held from June 11 to 19, 2016, including "April and the Extraordinary World", a coproduction with France and Belgium, which will be screened in official animation competition for Golden Goblet Award.

In addition to the Oscar-winning movies "Brooklyn" and "Room" to be shown during the festival, eight Canadian movies will be presented at Focus Canada, a part of the International Panorama section of SIFF.

"Nitro Rush" and "The Space Between" will have their world premieres in the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week and Focus Canada sections, respectively.

Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan is one of the official jury members of the festival, who attended the opening event of Focus Canada at Shanghai Film Art Center on the evening of June 14, along with other members of Canada's film delegation of directors, producers and actors.

Mr. Egoyan appraised the high quality of movies and the level of discussions of SIFF at the event. And his film "Remember" was showcased as the opening movie of Focus Canada.

"The year of 2016 marks an important milestone in the Canada-China relationship as it is designated as the year of people-to-people and culture exchange between our two countries", said Lee Kane, Consul of Political, Economic and Public Affairs of Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai at the opening event, adding that Focus Canada is specially set up at the moment this year, and the distinguished delegation represents some of the best of Canada's film industry today.

Mr. Kane expressed his gratitude to SIFF for providing such a wonderful platform to showcase Canadian culture and talents and he believes that Canada will continue to value the long-run partnership and to strengthen cooperation with SIFF.

        今年的上海国际电影节，有18部加拿大影片组团亮相，其中，加拿大、法国、比利时合拍的动画片《阿薇尔与虚构世界》将参加金爵奖最佳动画片的角逐。《疾风使命》和《爱的空间》将在成龙动作电影周以及加拿大电影周（Focus Canada）期间分别举行全球首映式。此外，加拿大电影导演 Atom Egoyan为本届电影节评委会的正式评委。

        除了奥斯卡佳作《房间》和《布鲁克林》将在电影节期间展映之外，本届电影节特设 “加拿大电影周”（Focus Canada）单元，精选八部影片，为影迷带来最新的“枫叶枫情”。

        14日晚在上海影城举办的加拿大电影周开幕式上，由加拿大导演、制片人、演员组成的电影代表团与观众见面。作为评委之一的加拿大知名导演Atom Egoyan对本次电影节的影片质量和论坛水准做了高度评价。他本人的作品《记住》是加拿大电影周的开幕影片，曾获第72届威尼斯电影节金狮奖提名。

        加拿大驻沪总领事馆政治、经济及公共事务领事李侃在开幕式上表示：“2016年对于加中两国来说是重要的一年，这一年被命名为人民交流年及文化交流年。加拿大电影周这个环节也因此应运而生。大家今天在现场见到的各位电影制作人也代表了加拿大电影业的精英。”

        此外，李侃感谢上海国际电影节为加拿大电影文化和人才提供了很好的平台，加拿大将继续珍视并加强与上海国际电影节的合作。
