Play Irish football with hands and feet!

手脚并用,打一场爱尔兰式的足球赛!

2016 FEXCO Asian Gaelic Games (AGG) was held in Shanghai from November 4th-6th. Shanghai won the championship in the men's senior competitions.

As one of the traditional Irish sports, Gaelic Football involves using hands and feet to move the football.

It was the 2nd time that the AGG took place in Shanghai. Over 600 participants from over 10 countries including Ireland competed in men's and women's Senior, Intermediate, and Junior competitions. There were 6 local teams participating in the events at different levels this year.

Jack Meng is a commission member of Shanghai Gaelic Football Club, who lived in Ireland.  He said that it is the charm of Shanghai that so many athletes coming here to take part in the AGG. And it is the AGG that makes the city more diverse and international. It is an unparalleled joy to take the title in his hometown and the championship will let more foreigners remember that Shanghai is also a city that is excellent at Gaelic Football.

2016亚洲盖尔式足球赛上周末(11月4日至6日)在上海举办。上海队在男子高级别赛事中夺冠。盖尔式足球赛特色在于手脚并用,是爱尔兰一项传统的体育项目。

今年是亚洲盖尔式足球赛第二次在上海举办,来自10个国家的600名球员参加了男女高、中、初级别的比赛。上海有6支球队投入各级别赛事。

上海盖尔式足球俱乐部委员会委员孟晶曾在爱尔兰生活过。他说,对于我的故乡上海,正是上海这座城市的魅力,才会有这么多运动员前来参赛,也正因为这样的赛事让上海更加多元化更加有国际化大都市的韵味。可以在家门口夺冠,这是无与伦比的喜悦,而这个冠军也会让更多的外国友人记住上海也是一个盖尔式足球很强的城市。
