This uprising marked a new era for the Communist Party of China (CPC) in developing an army of its own to rout out imperialists, warlords and feudalism so as to build a new China. Therefore this day has been set aside as the birthday of the People's Liberation Army.

Precious exhibits contributed by He Long's offspring were on display including cups used by the Marshal before the Nanchang Uprising, the cloth shoes he wore during his inspection of grassroots organizations, family letters written by his children, as well as the pencil he used for making notes on documents.

In addition, the Memorial House showcased several relative cultural relics such as rifles used in the Nanchang Uprising, a wood portrayal of He Long made by students from Lu Xun College of Arts, a prestigious art school which produced a considerable number of classic morale-boosting works during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).
