The China Universiade fencing team has arrived in Shanghai for a closed-door training session ahead of the 2017 Summer Universiade.
Apart from three coaches, the team is comprised of sixteen athletes selected from the recent national fencing championships. The team is now undergoing closed-door training for a period of twenty days at Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance.

Athletes between the ages of 17 and 28 can compete. (From the 2019 Summer Universiade, the new age limits will be from 17 to 25 years old.) This year, the event will take place in Taipei from August 19th to August 30th.
