Shanghai, August 3- The “battle” between Shanghai food stores in the moon cake market has already kicked off, a full two months before the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.

Many food stores are trying to attract consumers, by launching moon cakes with new flavors like shrimp & cheese, Chinese sauerkraut& bullfrog and abalone& pork.

Photo taken on August 2 shows dozens of people are standing in a queue to buy innovative moon cakes.

Sunya, a famous food store, for example, has newly launched Shrimp & Cheese Moon Cake and Crab & Meat Moon Cake this year.

While another local time-honored brand Shanghai First Food Store has creatively presented three new tastes: Chinese Sauerkraut& Bullfrog, Abalone& Pork and Pork & Bacon Moon Cake.
