To further enhance teenagers' safety consciousness and citizens' fire escape skills, a community experience activity with the theme of fire safety was launched by the Children's Foundation of China and the Shanghai Fire Bureau in Jing'an District, Shanghai on August 7.
The event consisted of four activities, namely the display of fire equipment, education for high-rise fire escape, the firsthand experience of fire suppression and the study of fire safety skills.
According to Wang Xiangnong, director of the Children's Foundation of China, the activity was expected to raise public's awareness and increase the public's knowledge of firefighting so as to heighten their ability to deal with emergencies.
Similar community experience activities are scheduled to be held in five other communities in Pudong, Putuo and Jiading.
