Shanghai, August 15- The city will take on a new look in the second half of this year as many districts are making efforts to improve themselves.

Highlights in the second half of 2017: Jiading District

Jiading District is making efforts to become an innovation center for intelligent network-connected vehicles.

In early June of last year, the closed test area of the first “National Intelligent Network-connected Vehicles (Shanghai) Pilot Demonstration Zone” approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC was launched in Jiading International Automobile City of Shanghai.

100 test scenarios were built in the first phase. In the future, the demonstration area will provide a test area of 27-square-kilometer open road. And by 2020, the demonstration road will stretch from the Anting directly to the Hongqiao Transportation Hub.

At present, Jiading also plans to build 1,000 mu of the intelligent network-connected automobile themed industrial park which will include intelligent transportation test area, public platform and industrial base.

Four emerging industrial clusters of integrated circuit and the Internet of things, new energy vehicles and vehicle intelligence, high-performance medical equipment and precision medical treatment, intelligent manufacturing and robot have also been added to the plan.

Seven kindergartens, primary and middle schools will be newly built in Jiading within the year.

The main structure of the Shanghai Experimental School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been capped and will officially open on September 1.

And the construction of the Jiading World Foreign Language School has begun recently. The school will have 40 classes including primary and middle schools.

Hua Jiang Middle School (Jiangqiao), Liu Yun Primary School (Nanxiang), Tian En Kindergarten (Nanxiang), North Water Bay Kindergarten and New Town Experimental Kindergarten are to be put into use later this year.

The district will also give consideration to some other hospital and sports park projects.
